Growing up in Los Angeles, Mr. Michaels developed an early love of music. At the age of 5 he got his first drum kit, and was banging away in the
garage. It only lasted two days before he destroyed it. Since that time, he has destroyed a number of other kits, becoming an expert drummer and
percussionist, supporting a number of artists through tour support and studio session work. Notably, Mr. Michaels collaborated with Lenny Kravitz and
Nick Cage on music and experimental film projects, respectively, during their younger days growing up in Los Angeles.
Mr. Michaels has formed durable relationships throughout the years with musicians, performers, and artists in Los Angeles and South Orange County. Mr. Michaels continued
his experimental film work throughout his adolescence, and undertook formal studies in the fields of photography and film, forming, managing, and collaborating on a number of
highly successful photography and film-related entities. Mr. Michaels can move effectively through matters related to light and composition with an agility that only comes from a
lifetime of concentrated effort and attention to the craft.
In addition to his work with Available Recordings, Mr. Michaels serves as Director of Photography and Music Events for the Albuquerque Film and Music Experience, reporting
to Co-Founder and Executive Producer, Laney Quirk.
